Liverpool Festival Choir
On Saturday 25th June 2011, the Liverpool Festival Choir, under director Colin Porter and organist Alan Thornecroft, performed at Farnworth Methodist Church, Widnes. They sang a range of traditional church music of praise, rejoicing and celebrating the Trinity. There were organ solos by Paul Hutchins and Colin Porter, and congregational participation in singing "How shall I sing that majesty" and "Jerusalem".
The choir gave their time freely and a collection was taken for our church charity, which this year, under the auspices of Methodist Relief and Development Fund, is for a water supply in a Ugandan village. The amount raised was £294. Afterwards we retired to the church hall for light refreshment.

Walking Group in Crosby
Today we enjoyed an excellent 8 mile walk around Crosby taking in the Beach (including Anthony Gormley number 64), Little Crosby (mentioned in the Doomsday Book) and a stretch of the Liverpool-Leeds canal (now cleaned up and full of birds and fish - instead of shopping trolleys, tyres and other sundry rubbish)
