Liverpool Festival ChoirOn Saturday 25th June 2011, the Liverpool Festival Choir, under director Colin Porter and organist Alan Thornecroft, performed at Farnworth Methodist Church, Widnes. They sang a range of traditional church music of praise, rejoicing and celebrating the Trinity. There were organ solos by Paul Hutchins and Colin Porter, and congregational participation in singing "How shall I sing that majesty" and "Jerusalem".
The choir gave their time freely and a collection was taken for our church charity, which this year, under the auspices of Methodist Relief and Development Fund, is for a water supply in a Ugandan village. The amount raised was £294. Afterwards we retired to the church hall for light refreshment.
